Article body
PSV Eindhoven moved into pole position in the Dutch first division with a 4-2 victory at AFC Ajax's Amesterdam ArenA - the champions' first league defeat of the season.
Ajax landmark
Arjan Robben gave PSV a perfect start on 14 minutes, but not long before the half-hour Zlatan Ibrahimovic equalised with Ajax's 4000th goal since the introduction of professional football in the Netherlands 48 years ago.
PSV power away
However, the prolific Mateja Kezman put PSV back ahead with his 18th goal this season just after the break, and although Andy van der Meijde soon levelled, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink scored on 57 and 78 minutes to take the visitors two points ahead of Ajax.
Six of the best
Feyenoord are five points behind Ajax in third after a 6-1 victory against AZ Alkmaar. The victory was secure inside the opening half hour, as Shinji Ono, Pierre van Hooijdonk and Sebastien Pardo all hit the target. Ono and Van Hooijdonk both scored again after the break, and although Kenneth Perez pulled one back, Mariano Bombarda made it six for Feyenoord.
Englaar decides match
NAC Breda took fourth place after a 1-0 win against RKC Waalwijk, Orlando Engelaar deciding the match with his seventh goal of the season, while FC Utrecht are fifth after drawing 2-2 at SC Heerenveen on Sunday and in Friday's match struggling FC Groningen came back from 2-0 down to beat Roda JC 3-2.
Nine men hold on
In Saturday's other games, bottom-placed De Graafschap held visitors Willem II 1-1, but the away side were relieved to get a point as Dimitri Shoukov and James Quinn were shown red cards while coach Mark Wotte was also sent off. Meanwhile, SC Excelsior central defender Steve Olfers scored in the 93rd minute to give his side a 2-2 draw with FC Twente and FC Zwolle's game with NEC Nijmegen finished goalless.
