Nunweiler set for UTA role

Radu Nunweiler has agreed to join Divizia A strugglers FC UTA Arad as coach on 1 January 2003.

Radu Nunweiler has agreed to join Romanian club FC UTA Arad as coach on 1 January in an effort to steer the club to safety from the foot of Divizia A.

Terms agreed
Nunweiler, 58, who won the Romanian championship six times as a player with FC Dinamo Bucuresti, has agreed terms with the Arad club - although the length of his contract is still in the balance. UTA have proposed a two or three-year deal, although Nunweiler is keen on an 18-month agreement. Once a settlement has been reached, the contract is expected to be signed after Christmas.

Servette served
After winning 50 caps for his country, Nunweiler left Romania in 1980 to live and work in Switzerland, where he coached several Swiss First Division sides, including Servette FC and Lausanne-Sports.
