Maltese international Stefan Giglio has extended his contract with PFC CSKA Sofia for a further two years.

Loaned out
The 23-year-old midfield player, who has been capped 27 times by Malta, is currently on loan to CSKA’s neighbours PFC Lokomotiv Sofia until the end of the season.

Impressive form
The former Valletta FC midfielder joined CSKA in 2000, and impressed in the latter half of last season. “I am very pleased to have signed a new two-year deal which ultimately binds me to this big club. I have settled in quite well in Bulgaria, and accepted the new contract put forward by CSKA,” said Giglio.

Future plans
Giglio's immediate ambition is to return to CSKA at the end of the current campaign and cement a first team place for next season. He has been in fine form at Lokomotiv, which has prompted CSKA to act. “It makes you feel pleased to know that a big club like CSKA wants to hold on to your services,” Giglio added.
