English Premiership strugglers West Bromwich Albion FC have signed FC PAOK Thessaloniki left-back Ifeanyi Udeze on loan.

'Highly regarded'
West Brom agreed an undisclosed fee with the Greek club for the 22-year-old Nigerian international and the transfer is expected to be completed if Udeze is granted a work permit. "Ifeanyi is very highly regarded and we're delighted to have been able to attract that calibre of player to the club," managing director Brendon Batson said.

Last place
Udeze, who has won 17 caps for his country, played for Nigeria against both England and Sweden in last year's FIFA World Cup finals. He will stay with West Brom, who sank to the bottom of the table following Saturday's 3-1 home defeat by Manchester United FC, until the end of the season, when the club will have an option to make the signing permanent.
