Rangers FC have made their second signing of the week by securing a loan deal with Norwegian central defender Dan Eggen until the end of the season.
Impressive trial
Eggen, 33, joins the Scottish Premier League leaders from Spanish side Deportivo Alavés after impressing on trial during the Glasgow club's recent training camp in the United Arab Emirates. All that remains for the deal to be sealed is for international clearance to reach the Scottish Football Associaition from Spain. On Monday, Rangers signed 29-year-old full-back Jérôme Bonnissel from French club FC Girondins de Bordeaux on loan until the end of the season.
'Absolutely delighted'
"I'm absolutely delighted to be here after what has been two very busy weeks," Eggen told Scottish club's official website. "I enjoyed the trip to Dubai and mixed well with the other players so I don't anticipate any problems settling in here.
'I'm stronger'
"I have a lot of confidence in my own ability and at the moment I'm stronger, better and more motivated than I've ever been so hopefully that will be a benefit to Rangers," Eggen added. Eggen played for Norway at the 1998 FIFA World Cup finals and for Alaves in the 2001 UEFA Cup final. He joined Alavés from RC Celta de Vigo in 1999.
