Croatian international forward Milan Rapaic has returned to his first club HNK Hajduk Split on a one-and-a-half year contract.
'A huge help'
After leaving Turkish side Fenerbahçe SK a few months ago Rapaic has been trying to find a new club and the 29-year-old had been on trial with Scottish champions Celtic FC. "We are very happy, Rapaic is a huge help for our team," said Hajduk president Branko Grgic.
Second debut
Rapaic should make his second debut for the club today against F.Y.R. Macedonia in the Marjan Trophy, an international tournament in Split. During his first spell with Hajduk, Rapaic won the league title in his first season and went on to claim a total of three championships and two Croatian Cups, prior to a move to AC Perugia in Italy.
World Cup performances
He spent four seasons with the Italian club before joining Fenerbahçe in summer 2000, going to score 16 goals in 68 appearances. At last summer's FIFA World Cup finals in Korea/Japan Rapaic made three appearances for Croatia, scoring once.
