Article body
SV Werder Bremen will be without striker Ivan Klasnic for three months after the Croatian suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
No surgery
The 23-year-old was injured during last weekend's 2-1 home defeat against TSV 1860 München in the 1. Bundesliga but will not require surgery. "We will splint his leg in the next six weeks," Bremen team physiotherapist Dr Götz Dimanski explained. "After that, he will have to do six weeks of build-up training."
Unlucky break
Klasnic joined Bremen in 2001 after spells with FC St. Pauli, TSV Stellingen 88 and SC Union 03 Hamburg. In 36 Bundesliga matches he has scored three goals. After scoring three goals in Bremen's last two competitive matches he had just made it into the starting eleven for Thomas Schaaf's side.
