Holders FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi won through to the semi-finals of the Georgian Cup today after a 1-1 draw at FC Milani Tsnori saw them advance on the away goals rule following a goalless first leg in the capital.
Dzodzuashvili leveller
Both goals came inside the first half-hour at the Central stadium. Milani struck first though Georgi Gambashidze in the 27th minute, but Merab Dzodzuashvili levelled inside 30 seconds with a goal which eventually ensured Lokomotivi a place in Friday's draw for the last four.
Derby victory
Lokomotivi are joined in the semi-finals by city rivals FC Dinamo Tbilisi after they beat another capital club, FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi, 2-1 on aggregate following today's 1-1 draw, Alberto Carlos Da Rocha's first-leg goal thus proving decisive. Levan Melkadze opened the scoring for WIT before Georgi Anchabadze's penalty drew Dinamo level.
Zirakishvili returns
FC Torpedo Kutaisi advanced comfortably, winning 2-0 against FC Dila Gori for a 3-0 aggregate success. Substitute Zaza Zirakishvili marked his return from a lengthy injury lay-off with the first goal in the 52nd minute before laying on the second for Ukranian Andriy Poroshin in the final minute.
Sioni progress
In the other tie, First Division FC Spartak Tbilisi beat FC Sioni Bolnisi 2-1 but this was not enough to overturn a 3-0 first-leg deficit, meaning Sioni progressed to their first cup semi-final.
