Two-year contract
The Slovakian international midfield player has left Zilina in a deal reported to be worth €500,000, and has signed a two-year contract with his new club.
Time to go
"He outgrew our leage and it was time for him to prove his abilities abroad. We did not want to deny him this chance," Zilina chairman Karol Belaník said. Meanwhile, Nürnberg coach Wolfgang Wolf described his new signing as "a typical No10 with an eye for goal".
Title winner
Mintál, 25, led Zilina to two successive titles and scored 20 goals in the 2001/02 campaign. Zilina must do without him when they tackle Israel's Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round next month.
