FC Baník Ostrava have signed Marek Heinz from Bundesliga side Hamburger SV on a two-year contract.
Return home
The 25-year-old striker returns to his native Czech Republic after three years in the Bundesliga, where he scored six goals in 66 games. Heinz struggled to win a first-team place at Hamburg last season and was loaned to DSC Arminia Bielefeld in the spring.
Contract expired
Arminia were relegated at the end of the season and Hamburg decided against renewing his contract, which expired in June. At Baník, Heinz will replace Václav Sverkos who left for German side Vfl Borussia Mönchengladbach last month.
