Celtic reunion
The midfield player, who turns 32 later this month, will go straight into the Dundee squad for their Scottish Premier League fixture against the side Burley left in 1999 to join Derby for €4.3m, Celtic FC. Dundee currently lie fourth in the Premier League, five points behind leaders Rangers FC, and are also aiming to return to Derby to sign former Italian international Fabrizio Ravanelli.
Feyenoord fine confimed
Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord have had their immediate €25,000 fine for keeping two players out of the Dutch Under-21 squad confirmed by the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB). The club were punished for taking Robin van Persie and Glenn Loovens on an Asian trip rather than releasing them to play against Belarus in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers on 6 June.
Point deduction reversed
Feyenoord were initially handed a €25,000 penalty and a three-point deduction suspended for one year. However, the KNVB's higher appeal committee have reversed the point deduction, but maintained the fine and given Feyenoord a second €25,000 charge, suspended for 12 months.
Alexandersson loaned out
English Premiership side Everton FC have loaned Swedish international midfield player Niclas Alexandersson to first division West Ham United FC for one month. Alexandersson won the most recent of his 68 caps last October, having been a €2.9m signing in 2000 from Sheffield Wednesday FC.
Possible extension
West Ham caretaker manager Trevor Brooking said: "I know Niclas has played at the top level and is capable of doing it. It was just about making sure about current match fitness, attitude and everything else. If he plays as we know he can, perhaps it will be extended a bit longer."
