Real Murcia CF coach Joaquín Peiró will be without Francisco Maciel for up to six months after the defender fractured an ankle during Sunday's Primera División match at CA Osasuna.
Surgery necessary
The 26-year-old right-back was taken off on a stretcher in the 40th minute after a tackle by Osasuna's Mohammed El Yaagoubi. Arturo Rubio, from Murcia's medical department, has estimated that Maciel will be out of action for four to six months following surgery.
Bad timing
The injury comes at a bad time for newly promoted Murcia whose 2-1 defeat at Osasuna on Sunday saw them drop into the relegation zone. Pedro Largo is also out, for three weeks, after tearing a muscle yesterday.
