BV Borussia Dortmund's terrible week continued when they followed up their exit from the UEFA Cup with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of FC Hansa Rostock in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
Super Max
Dortmund lost 4-0 to French outfit FC Sochaux Montbéliard on Thursday, completing a 6-0 aggregate defeat - but looked as though they had turned the corner when Ewerthon cancelled out Martin Max's opener to level the scores at the Ostseestadion. But injury-ravaged Dortmund conceded an 87th-minute goal as Max doubled his tally and ensured the visitors remained fifth in the table.
Fate sealed
In the day's other game, Hertha BSC Berlin threw away the lead to lose 3-1 at home against FC Schalke 04 and slip to second from bottom in the Bundesliga table. Denis Lapaczinski had put Hertha a goal to the good but second-half strikes from Niels Oude Kamphuis, Tomasz Waldoch and Gerald Asamoah sealed their fate.
