Rostov sign South American trio

Members

News round-up: FC Rostov-na-Donu have signed three South Americans including Chilean Marco Villaseca.

Villaseca signs
The 29-year-old midfield player Villaseca joins from CSD Colo Colo, two years after turning down FC Spartak Moskva for personal reasons. He said: "I like the team here at Rostov, which is very international. I always wanted to play abroad at a club where foreigners are treated well." Defender Gutiérrez arrives from Brazil's CA Mineiro while midfield player Aguado moves from Montevideo's CA River Plate.

Snoyl ruled out
Feyenoord left-back Ferne Snoyl has suffered a fresh setback after breaking his right collarbone. The 18-year-old defender had only just returned from a foot injury sustained in a domestic accident, but left the pitch in pain before the end of his club's 2-2 Eredivisie draw at ADO Den Haag on Sunday. He will be out for at least a month.

Zonneveld joins NAC
Elsewhere in the Netherlands, NAC Breda have signed midfield player Mike Zonneveld from NEC Nijmegen. The 23-year-old will move to NAC on 1 July after agreeing a contract until 30 June 2008. NAC coach Ton Lokoff said: "I wanted to sign him at the start of the season, but that proved impossible. He is a young lad with a lot of Eredivisie experience. It was also important to me that he really wanted to join NAC."

Lundekvam extends contract
Southampton FC defender Claus Lundekvam has penned a two-year contract extension with the English club. The 31-year-old Norwegian international has been at Southampton since 1996, and his new deal takes him up to summer 2007. He said: "I was pleased to sign a new deal and I think I made it clear all along that I wanted to stay. This is my eighth season at Southampton, which is a long time in football, but I have enjoyed every minute."

FA Cup draw
Meanwhile, FA Cup holders Arsenal FC could face a quarter-final trip to the last side to beat them in the competition, Liverpool FC, after today's draw. Liverpool must win a replay at Portsmouth FC to meet an Arsenal team chasing a third consecutive cup triumph. Elsewhere, Manchester United FC will be at home to either West Ham United FC or Fulham FC, Birmingham City FC or Sunderland AFC will welcome Sheffield United FC, and first division Millwall FC will play second division Tranmere Rovers FC. The games are on the weekend 6-7 March.

Grasshoppers lose pair
Swiss side Grasshopper-Club will be without defender Kim Jaggy and midfield player Feliciano Magro for at least three weeks after both tore ligaments in their right feet in the 1-0 win against Xamax on Sunday.
