Successful campaign
After a successful campaign, Göteborg's title challenge was effectively ended by a 2-1 home defeat by Malmö FF on Monday. Göteborg trail joint leaders Halmstads BK and Malmö by three points with one match to play, away to Halmstad on Saturday.
Nilsson favourite
Johansson, the former Denmark coach, joined Göteborg prior to the 2003 season and quickly set about stabilising the club after financial difficulties, turning the side into surprise title contenders this term. Göteborg have not yet named a successor, but former favourite Torbjörn Nilsson tops the list of candidates.
