PSV Eindhoven broke AFC Ajax's 33-year-old Eredivisie record of 1,082 minutes without conceding a goal as they eased to victory against bottom club De Graafschap.
Farfán double
Between them, Heurelho Gomes and Edwin Zoetebier have not conceded in the league since Mike Zonnefeld's goal for NAC Breda on 28 August and the run never looked in danger against a lacklustre De Graafschap side. Defender Alex capitalised on a Rob van Dijk fumble to break the deadlock before Mark van Bommel's second-half penalty and a Jefferson Farfán double gave the scoreline a one-sided look.
Alkmaar win
The record now stands at 1,110 minutes from 12 games but PSV remain only five points clear of AZ Alkmaar, who are on a terrific run of their own, after Co Adriaanse's side beat ADO Den Haag 2-0. Martijn Meerdink opened the scoring on 16 minutes before substitute Ali Elkhattabi made the game safe with a second midway through the second half.
Fraternal fixture
Alkmaar have won eleven consecutive games since their draw with Ajax at the start of October. The Amsterdam outfit lie third after a 2-1 win at RKC Waalwijk in a match that saw brothers Ronald and Erwin Koeman in either dugout. A shock looked on the cards when Robert Fuchs broke the deadlock on seven minutes, but Wesley Sneijder soon equalised before Mauro Rosales scored the decisive goal before half-time.
In-form Kuijt
Feyenoord returned to winning ways as Dirk Kuijt's fifth goal in as many games helped them to a 2-1 win against NEC Nijmegen. Although Edgar Baretto drew the visitors level before the interval, Salomon Kalou's cool finish after beating three defenders five minutes from time gave the side their first win in four games.
Heerenveen held
SC Heerenveen twice overturned two-goal deficits with late goals last week but found themselves on the receiving end when Jos van Nieuwstadt's last-minute header earned Willem II a share of the spoils. Heerenveen had twice taken the lead through Victor Sikora and Klaas Jan Huntelaar, either side of Tom Caluwé's leveller.
Vitesse victory
There was also a late goal at SBV Vitesse where Michael Jansen headed the home side to a 2-1 victory five minutes after FC Utrecht's Darl Douglas thought he had earned his side a draw. Roda JC eased to a 5-1 win against FC Groningen, who had goalkeeper Bas Roorda sent off after 25 minutes, while FC Twente were equally dominant as they won 4-0 at home against FC Den Bosch. The derby between RBC Roosendaal and NAC Breda finished goalless.
