Bart Goor denied PSV Eindhoven victory as Feyenoord earned a share of the spoils in an enthralling match at the Philips Stadium to enable AZ Alkmaar to move to within three points of the Eredivisie summit.
Run broken
PSV looked to be strolling to an easy win after twice establishing a two-goal lead at the De Kuip. PSV looked to be cruising after Philip Cocu and Jefferson Farfán had put them a 2-0 up within 25 minutes and although Salomon Kalou pulled a goal back four minutes after the restart - the first goal PSV have conceded in a record-breaking 1,159 minutes - DaMarcus Beasley restored the cushion.
Goor goal
Just eight minutes remained when Shinji Ono pulled another goal back to make for a grandstand finish which Goor completed in style with an added-time equaliser to make it 3-3 as Feyenoord remain fourth. The home side's first dropped points in six games allowed AZ to close the gap at the top after securing their 12th consecutive win at home against FC Twente.
Five-star AZ
Martijn Meerdink broke the deadlock after just six minutes when his shot was deflected by Karim Touzani, and the defender's miserable afternoon continued with an own goal seven minutes before the interval. Kenneth Perez added second-half goals either side of Denny Landzaat's 67th-minute penalty as AZ earned a 5-0 win ahead of their UEFA Cup trip to Grazer AK on Thursday.
Babel strike
SC Heerenveen are also in UEFA Cup action this week and they too earned a morale-boosting victory as recently returned Mika Väyrynen's strike midway through the second-half saw off FC Groningen. Heerenveen remain fifth, three points behind third-placed AFC Ajax who had 17-year-old Ryan Babel to thank as his 88th-minute strike secured a late win against SBV Vitesse Arnhem.
Waalwijk win
The game between FC Utrecht and Willem II finished goalless, while there was nothing to chose between NAC Breda and ADO Den Haag either, after Gil Swerts cancelled out Ali Boussouban's 70th-minute goal with just five minutes of the game left. Jochen Janssen also scored on 85 minutes as RKC Waalwijk won 2-0 at FC Den Bosch.
Maiden victory
Den Bosch's defeat leaves them in trouble at the foot of the table and with Groningen also losing, De Graafschap capitalised and moved off the bottom with their first win of the season in the derby against NEC Nijmegen. Garry de Graef's 65th-minute strike edged a five-goal thriller as RBC Roosendaal, who lost 3-1 against Roda JC, went bottom.
