Off the woodwork
Inter were seeking a fourth straight league win but had to be satisfied with a point as the home team largely controlled possession. Indeed, Reggina were denied victory only by the woodwork as Giacomo Tedesco's long-range effort crashed against a post in the second half.
Down to ten men
Christian Vieri, Adriano and Georgios Karagounis all missed chances for Inter before the break, but even after Reggina lost Giuseppe Colucci to a second yellow card on 67 minutes, the visitors could find no way through their impressive hosts. It was a 13th draw for unbeaten Inter in 19 league games.
Brescia denied
Earlier on Saturday, Brescia Calcio were frustrated in a 1-1 home draw with ACF Fiorentina which left them just three points above the relegation zone. Fiorentina went ahead through Fabrizio Miccoli on 49 minutes, but Luigi Pasquale restored parity with his first Serie A goal 13 minutes later. Fiorentina and Reggina remain in mid-table.
