Everton sell Davies, lose McFadden

Everton FC have sold Welsh international midfielder Simon Davies to Fulham FC while receiving news that Scotland striker James McFadden has broken his foot.

Coleman connection
Davies joined Fulham for a fee in the region of €3.7m, just 20 months after moving to Everton from Tottenham Hotspur FC. He made 45 Premiership appearances for the Liverpool-based club and will now seek to kick-start his career under the tutelage of Fulham boss Chris Coleman, his former Wales team-mate.

Striking blow
Forward McFadden, meanwhile, faces time on the sidelines for both Everton and Scotland after the 23-year-old fractured a metatarsal bone while playing head tennis in training on Wednesday. The Merseysiders are already missing England striker Andy Johnson until March due to an ankle injury.
