Miccoli double
Fernando Santos's side took the lead after 54 minutes when Miccoli made the most of fine build-up play involving Konstantinos Katsouranis. The Italian forward was on target again in the 79th minute following a delightful pass by Rui Costa and Katsouranis sealed a comfortable win for the visitors in stoppage time from the penalty spot. Benfica now trail leaders FC Porto by just two points, although they could find themselves leapfrogged by Sporting Clube de Portugal should their Lisbon rivals beat A. Naval 1º Maio on Sunday.
