Santos aims high with Andorra

Following his election to the post of Andorran Football Federation president, Victor Santos immediately set his sights on improving his nation's footballing infrastructure.

Victor Santos has been elected president of the Andorran Football Federation (FAF) for the next four years.

The 60-year-old brings a wealth of experience to his new role in the principality having served as the federation's vice-president for the past eight years. Santos also worked closely with his country's national football and futsal teams during his time with the FAF.

Speaking about his mandate as president, the former FC Encamp coach paid particular attention to strengthening the nation's youth setup. He said: "This is essential as, without it, there is no future."

He also mentioned the importance of developing the women's game in Andorra, and in particular, creating a senior international women's team. "This will be one of our concrete goals," he said. "As time passes we are seeing more and more players and we are keen to start competing on an international level."

The new president will also seek to improve the nation's footballing infrastructure during his time in charge. "[We will look to] facilitate by increasing the amount of football training pitches for every club in this country," he added.
