Milan make light work of Chievo

AC Milan secured a second successive Serie A victory, with Mario Balotelli and Kaká the architects of a convincing 3-0 triumph against AC Chievo Verona at San Siro.

The Rossoneri broke the deadlock after four minutes, Adil Rami directing a corner back for Balotelli to fire past Chievo goalkeeper Michael Agazzi. Kaká made it two just before the half-hour, controlling Keisuke Honda's cross with his chest and finding the target from close range. The Brazilian then hit his seventh of the Serie A campaign nine minutes after the restart, curling in from the edge of the box after Agazzi saved Honda's header. Chievo might have reduced the arrears at the death, but Cyril Théréau blazed a penalty against the bar after being fouled in the area by Cristian Zaccardo. Milan go ninth in the table, with Chievo stuck in 16th.

In the early game, fourth-from-bottom Bologna FC suffered a blow in their battle against relegation, Giuseppe De Luca (22) and Marcelo Estigarribia (26) consigning them to a 2-0 home defeat by seventh-placed Atalanta BC.
