Paris Saint-Germain lost for just the second time in Ligue 1 this term as they slipped to a 1-0 reverse at Olympique Lyonnais.

Both clubs exited European competition in midweek, with Paris losing to UEFA Champions League rivals Chelsea FC before Lyon fell to Juventus in the UEFA Europa League, and it was Rémi Garde's side who dealt better with disappointment in their Stade de Gerland meeting. The visitors began well, but Lyon responded in kind and took the lead on 31 minutes, Jordan Ferri finding the net from distance.

The same player almost doubled the lead after the break too, only for Salvatore Sirigu to produce a fine stop. Still missing Zlatan Ibrahimović, Paris nonetheless failed to conjure an equaliser against the side they will face in the French League Cup final on Saturday. Laurent Blanc's charges thus lead AS Monaco FC by ten points at the Ligue 1 summit with five games remaining.

Elsewhere, fourth-placed AS Saint-Étienne fought back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw at Stade de Reims. Gaëtan Charbonnier and Franck Signorino had put the hosts in a strong position with 50 minutes gone, but Brandão struck a minute after Signorino's effort and François Clerc levelled in added time for Les Verts, now seven points behind third-placed LOSC Lille. Lastly, FC Nantes overcame EA Guingamp 1-0.
