LOSC Lille defender Marko Baša has marked his 32nd birthday by being named Montenegrin player of the year for the first time.
"This is the most important and most cherished award of my career," Baša said after edging out Stevan Jovetić and Mirko Vučinić in the poll of coaches and captains of the 12 Montenegrin First League teams.
"It is a big honour to be named the best in my country and I am so proud and happy. I will do my best in future for the national team and to promote Montenegrin football in every way."
