Celia Šašić

Celia Šašić is one of the stars of women’s football. She played in the Women’s Bundesliga for SC 07 Bad Neuenahr (2004-2013) and 1. FFC Frankfurt (2013-2015).

Her international career began in 2005 and she played for Germany 111 times before retiring in 2015. She won the UEFA Women’s EURO twice and the Algarve Cup three times with the national squad, and the UEFA Women’s Champions League and DFB Cup with Frankfurt. She was awarded the Fritz Walter medal in 2005 and named Germany’s Footballer of the Year in 2012 and 2015 and UEFA Best Women’s Player in Europe in 2015.

In 2020 she was elected to the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body.
