Madalina Diaconu

A native of Romania, Dr Diaconu is a Swiss-qualified lawyer with 20 years’ experience in legal practice. She is both a barrister and an academic, specialising in sports and gambling law, with an emphasis on aspects related to sports integrity.

In parallel to her activity as a lawyer, Dr Diaconu teaches sports law and integrity at the university of Neuchâtel, and is an invited professor at the FIFA Master, as well as at the universities of Fribourg and Bucharest. Dr Diaconu formerly worked for the International Olympic Committee, the European Court of Justice and the Swiss Lottery.

She joined the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body in 2020.
