Pohlak stays at the helm in Estonia

Pohlak was re-elected at the EJL general assembly, which took place in the stands of the national team stadium owing to current COVID-19 restrictions.
A member of the EJL board since 1993, Pohlak became vice-president in 2003 before taking up the presidency four years later.
A graduate of Tallinn's Polytechnic Institute, the 58-year-old wrote children's books and taught Estonian language and literature as well as mathematics, and went on to dedicate himself to reviving football in post-Soviet Estonia, founding FC Flora in May 1990 with a group of friends. In 2002, he received a major national award for his work, and he has also served as a local councillor.
During the general assembly, the Estonia national association presented its development programme for the 2021-25 period. The assembly also discussed a report on the importance of Estonmian football’s social and economic effect on local society.
