Second term for Tura in San Marino

Tura will serve his second term at the helm of San Marino’s football after being confirmed in office until the end of 2024 at the FSGC’s annual assembly.

The 65-year-old is also commencing his fourth term on the association’s management board.

Continuity the key

“I want to thank all those who have chosen to renew their support, and choosing a line of continuity in doing so,” said Tura, a qualified industrial technician and former labour union secretary, who was elected FSGC president in 2017.

"In this election, we have seen an unequivocal message that the assembly considers the work done in the past five years as being valid and trustworthy,” he added. Tura first joined the FSGC board in 2008 and served as vice-president from 2013. He was also San Marino’s first international referee, taking charge of his first UEFA match in 1991.

Two female board members

Another important decision at the FSGC assembly saw the election of two female members, Valeria Canini and Jessica Guidi, to the association’s board.

FSGC general secretary Luigi Zafferani was also confirmed in his position. The association, Zafferani said, would continue the development programme it began five years ago. Special attention will be paid to infrastructures, including new sports facilities, supported by UEFA's HatTrick development programme, that will be built close to the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle. It is hoped that the construction of the facilities will be completed by the end of 2024.
