CEDB decisions affecting the attendance of supporters at UEFA matches

CEDB meeting of 22 November 2023

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has taken the following decisions potentially affecting the attendance of supporters at UEFA matches:

Match : UEL Olympique de Marseille vs AEK Athens FC, (3:1), 26.10.2023

Incidents :

Blocking of public passageways, Art. 38 SSR

Lighting of fireworks, Art. 16(2)(c) DR

Use of laser pointer, Art. 16(2)(d) DR

Decision:

The CEDB has decided:

- To fine Olympique de Marseille €50,000 and to order the partial closure of Olympique de Marseille’s stadium (i.e., the Virage Nord) during the next (1) UEFA competition match the club will play as host club, for lighting of fireworks. Said partial stadium closure is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision.

- To fine Olympique de Marseille €20,000 for use of laser pointers.

- To fine Olympique de Marseille €26,000 for blocking of public passageways.

Match: UCL Real Sociedad de Fútbol vs. SL Benfica (3:1), 08.11.2023

Incidents:

Lighting of fireworks, Art. 16(2)(c) DR

Throwing of objects, Art. 16(2)(b) DR

Decision:

The CEDB has decided:

- To fine SL Benfica €25,000 and to ban SL Benfica from selling tickets to its away supporters for its next (1) UEFA competition match, for lighting of fireworks and throwing of objects.

Match: UEL SK Slavia Praha vs. AS Roma (2:0), 09.11.2023

Incidents:

Blocking of public passageways, Art. 38 SSR

Throwing of objects, Art. 16(2)(b) DR

Provocative message of an offensive nature (illicit chants), Art. 16(2)(e) DR

Lighting of fireworks, Art. 16(2)(c) DR

Unsporting conduct (Mr. Zdeněk Houštecký), Art. 15(1)(a)(v) DR

Decision:

The CEDB has decided:

- To fine SK Slavia Praha €30,000 and to order the partial closure of SK Slavia Praha’s stadium (i.e. sectors 106-110 of the North stand) for the next (1) UEFA competition match it will play as host club, for lighting of fireworks. Said partial stadium closure is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision.

- To fine SK Slavia Praha €34,000 for blocking pf public passageways.

- To fine SK Slavia Praha €10,125 for throwing of objects.

- To fine SK Slavia Praha €17,500 for transmitting a provocative message of an offensive nature.

- To suspend SK Slavia Praha assistant coach, Mr. Zdeněk Houštecký, for a total of one (1) UEFA club competition match in which he would otherwise participate, for unsporting conduct.

Match : UEL Stade Rennais FC vs. Panathinaikos FC (3:1), 09.11.2023

Incidents :

Blocking of public passageways, Art. 38 SSR

Lighting of fireworks, Art. 16(2)(c) DR

Decision:

The CEDB has decided:

- To order the partial closure of Stade Rennais FC’s stadium (i.e. the “Groupe Rose” tribune) during the next UEFA competition match the club will play as host club, and to fine Stade Rennais FC €20,000, for lighting of fireworks. Said partial stadium closure is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision.

- To fine Stade Rennais FC €24,000 for blocking of public passageways.
