The UEFA Appeals Body has taken the following decision which affects the attendance of supporters at UEFA matches:
Match: R. Union Saint-Gilloise vs. Fenerbahçe SK (0:3) 07.03.2024 ( UEFA Europa Conference League 2023/2024)
Incidents:
Crowd disturbances, Art. 16(2)(h) DR
Lighting of fireworks, Art. 16(2)(c) DR
Throwing of objects, Art. 16(2)(b) DR
Acts of damage, Art. 16(2)(f) DR
Training sessions, Art. 37 Regulations of the UEFA Europa Conference League
Decision:
The appeal lodged by Fenerbahçe SK is partially upheld. Consequently, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body’s decision of 15 March 2024 is amended as follows:
- To order the enforcement of the suspended disciplinary measure imposed by the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body in its decision on 25 January 2024 for lighting of fireworks and throwing of objects, i.e. to ban Fenerbahçe SK from selling tickets to its away-supporters for the next (1) UEFA competition match in accordance with Article 26(3) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
- To ban Fenerbahçe SK from selling tickets to its away supporters for its next (1) UEFA competition match, for lighting of fireworks and acts of damage. Said ban from selling tickets to away supporters is still suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the decision of the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (i.e. 20 October 2023).
- To fine Fenerbahçe SK €80,000 and to ban Fenerbahçe SK from selling tickets to its away-supporters for an additional UEFA competition match, for lighting of fireworks, throwing of objects, crowd disturbances, and acts of damage.
- Fenerbahçe SK is ordered to contact R. Union Saint-Gilloise within 30 days from the date of this decision for the settlement of the damages caused by its supporters, i.e. for the 15 broken seats.
- To warn Fenerbahçe SK for the non-respect of the pitch protection map.
