CEDB decisions affecting the attendance of supporters at UEFA matches

CEDB meeting of 15 May

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has taken the following decisions affecting the attendance of supporters at UEFA matches :

Match:

Club Brugge vs. PAOK FC (1:0), 11.04.2024 (UEFA Europa Conference League)

Charges against PAOK FC:

- Provocative message of a political nature, Art. 16(2)(e) DR

- Lack of assistance by travelling stewards, Art. 24.02 SSR

- Crowd disturbances, Art. 16(2)(h) DR

- Acts of damage, Art. 16(2)(f) DR

Decisions:

- To fine PAOK FC €10,000 and to ban PAOK FC from selling tickets to its away supporters for its next (1) UEFA competition match, for crowd disturbances, acts of damage and the lack of assistance by its travelling stewards.

- To fine PAOK FC €20,000 for transmitting messages not fit for a sports event, i.e. provocative messages of a political nature.

Match:

Georgia vs. Greece, 26.03.2024 (European Championship 2024)

Charges against Georgian Football Federation:

- Blocking of public passageways, Art. 38 SSR- Invasion of the field of play, Art. 16(2)(a) DR

- Insufficient protection of the playing area against intruders, Art. 40.01 SSR

- Use of laser pointer, Art. 16(2)(d) DR- Lighting of fireworks, Art. 16(2)(c ) DR- Disturbances during the national anthems, Art. 16(2)(g) DR

Decisions:

- To fine the Georgian Football Federation €30,000 and to order the closure of the Georgian Football Federation’s stadium during the next one (1) UEFA competition match in which the Georgian Football Federation will play as host association, for blocking of public passageways, invasion of the field of play, insufficient protection of the playing area against intruders, use of laser pointer, lighting of fireworks and disturbance during the national anthems. Said order to play its next match behind closed doors is suspended during a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision.

- To suspend Georgian Football Federation player, Mr. Loria Giorgi, for a total of one (1) representative team competition match for which he would otherwise be eligible, for unsporting conduct.

Match:

Croatia vs. Poland, 16.04.2024 (FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024)

Charges against Croatian Football Federation:

- Improper conduct of the team (3 players or more), Art. 15(4) DR

- Throwing of objects, Art. 16(2)(b) DR

- Serious rough play (Mr. Kristijan Postružin), Art. 15(1)(d) DR

Decisions:

- To fine the Croatian Football Federation €10,000 and to order the Croatian Football Federation to play its next (1) UEFA Futsal competition match it will play as host association behind closed doors, for throwing of objects. Said order to play its next match behind closed doors is suspended during a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision.

- To fine the Croatian Football Federation €1,800 for the improper conduct of its Futsal team.

- To suspend the Croatian Football Federation’s Futsal player, Mr. Kristijan Postružin, for a total of two (2) UEFA representative team competition matches for which he would otherwise be eligible, for serious rough play.

Note to media:

Disciplinary measures under a probationary period are not immediately effective but may be enforced if “a further offence of a similar nature is committed during the probationary period” (cf. Article 26(3) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations).
