Csányi, 72, has been in the role since July 2010, and was re-elected during the 2025 general meeting, held in Telki, Hungary, on 9 May.

During Csányi’s tenure, 28 new stadiums have been built across the country, including the Puskás Arena, the new home of the Hungarian national team. Additionally, there has been a strong emphasis placed on the development of youth players, as well as encouraging the growth of women’s football and futsal in Hungary.
