The award is the Alliance’s highest honour, and celebrates individuals and organisations who have made a profound impact on advancing sustainability within the sports industry.
Members of the Green Sports Alliance (GSA) pointed to UEFA’s commitment to pursue a "Road to Zero", with the measurement, reduction and mitigation measures undertaken across the internal organisation and UEFA events.
"It is a great privilege to receive an award that is of great value when given by an organisation like the GSA.We have a responsibility to do more – to live up to the values this award represents, not just today, but moving forward. This will continue to drive us toward meaningful change in football, in sport, and in the broader society we serve."

The Green Sports Alliance is a global community that works to drive sustainability across leagues, teams and venues. This was the 15th edition of the organisation’s annual summit, which was held from 10-12 June, and titled "Game On 2030", in recognition of the summit’s ambition to accelerate action towards a more resilient and responsible future.
