The 61-year-old – a Business Finance graduate from the University of Manchester – has been a member of the CFA since 2005. He previously held various posts at the CFA including APOEL board representative, head of the national teams committee, first vice president and deputy president. He has also served on the UEFA fair play and social responsibility committee.

"Football can only move forward with cooperation, composure and institutional coherence," he said after his election. "I ask that we be given time to implement our proposals, volume of work and reforms and when the times comes, to be judged fairly and stringently on the results."
