Since its creation in 2000, the foundation, financed entirely by UEFA, has supported 143 projects, investing a total of CHF 1.83 million in local sport.

Twenty-five years ago, UEFA and the city of Nyon joined forces with a shared belief that sport can shape lives and strengthen communities. What began as a partnership has grown into a lasting relationship built on trust, respect and a genuine love for the city we call home.

Aleksander Čeferin, UEFA president

Daniel Rossellat summed up the spirit of the occasion: “Nyon has a unique advantage: a foundation that supports sport, a powerful driver of unity and development. Let’s celebrate it, sustain it and continue this collective adventure.”

UEFA also manages the Colovray Sports Centre, located adjacent to its headquarters. Beyond serving the community, Colovray is a vital resource for UEFA staff, who regularly use the facilities for football matches, fitness bootcamp sessions and running clubs. Staff even benefit from training with local sporting icons Ellen and Léa Sprunger, former Olympic runners from the region, adding a unique dimension to workplace well-being.

Colovray also hosts major UEFA events, including the UEFA Youth League final, reinforcing its role as a venue for top-level football.

A major upgrade to the facilities, financed and managed by the city of Nyon, will see a CHF 40 million extension project create a 5,500 m² multisport complex featuring:

  • A triple sports hall with seating for 2,000 spectators
  • Dedicated areas for martial arts, fitness and well-being
  • A dojo, strength training facilities and a conference room
  • Outdoor enhancements, including a skate park and event esplanade
  • A roof equipped with 2,764 m² of solar panels

Completion is scheduled for August 2026, ensuring Nyon remains a hub for local and international sporting events.
