The winger had a successful club career in his native Brazil and in Europe, helping Inter FS win the 2014/15 Spanish league and cup double before a two-year spell with Sporting. Between 2018 and 2020, he was part of the team that won two Portuguese Cups and the domestic Super Cup, as well as the first UEFA Futsal Champions League under that branding, beating hosts Kairat Almaty 2-1 in the final. Felipe also won the 2017 Copa América de Futsal with Brazil.

“There are no words that can soothe the hearts of family, friends and everyone who knew our athlete, Alex,” read a statement from the player’s management. “Futsal is in mourning, one of the best athletes our company has ever had has left us, and what hurts us most is that a father, husband, son and friend whom we loved and admired infinitely has passed away.”

His club also issued a statement: “All employees, players, and staff of MFC Norilsky Nickel are shocked and devastated by this irreparable loss. We express our deepest condolences to Alex's family, friends, and loved ones.”

A Sporting CP club statement read: “Sporting extend their deepest condolences to his family and friends, while also praising and thanking him for his years of effort and dedication to the club.”
