First elected in 2022, Klaveness, a former lawyer and Norway international, will now continue for a further two-year term.
Norwegian football has enjoyed a strong upturn during Klaveness' presidency. The women’s national team reached the quarter-finals of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 in Switzerland, while the men’s national team qualified for this summer’s FIFA World Cup, securing their place at the finals for the first time since 1998.
"Lise Klaveness is leading the NFF in a period marked by positive results at both grassroots and elite level. She is a prominent and clear leader both nationally and internationally, in line with the expectations set by Norwegian football’s democratic bodies," said election committee chair, Jan Petter Hagen in the committee’s recommendation.
