Răzvan Burleanu has been re-elected president of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) for a further your years.

Burleanu, who is also a member of the FIFA Council, will now remain in the role until 2030, with a mandate to continue the impressive development work undertaken in recent years by the FRF.

"I would like to thank you all for your support and confidence," he told the FRF assembly. "This vote shows how each of you, together with us, want to build the future in the next years, as well as to achieve our strategic objectives. Only acting like a team and working together we will manage this."

During Burleanu's presidency, the FRF has increased its commercial income, allowing greater invest in infrastructure, education and development projects, which include attracting more children to the game. The FRF recently launched its first dedicated commercial strategy for its Women’s SuperLiga – a significant step in the professionalisation of the game, and a new digital platform for its football community.

On the pitch, Romania's men will play Türkiye in their FIFA World Cup play-off semi-final in Istanbul next week, having qualified by virtue of winning their 2024/25 UEFA Nations League group.
