Violent scenes
The Hungarian Football League had imposed the suspension at all league matches at Ferencváros until 2004, following the violent scenes at the Budapest club's final home league game of the season.
Maximum penalty
Supporters ran riot, kicking and punching the Debreceni VSC coach and players after a 0-0 draw which handed the title to rivals MTK Hungária FC. However, the punishment was cut to three matches after Ferencváros successfully argued that that was the maximum penalty set out in the league's rules.
