Expósito returns to Athletic after a three-year absence, having left San Mamés in 2002 to join CD Numancia on a season's loan. He then spent the 2003/04 campaign at Osasuna before the Pamplona club signed him outright in a deal which gave Athletic the possibility of buying back the 25-year-old. Athletic have now exercised that clause, paying around €270,000 for the services of their academy graduate. Expósito made 23 appearances in total for Osasuna, who will enter the UEFA Cup while Athletic compete in the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
