Paris Saint-Germain sewed up the Ligue 1 title in style on Sunday with a devastating 9-0 victory at Troyes, confirming their stranglehold on the French game with a fourth successive crown, and their most convincing yet. Irrepressible from the start, Paris – and talismanic forward Zlatan Ibrahimović – managed to shatter a number of records along the way, as UEFA.com's Christian Châtelet explains.
Records Paris have broken or equalled
8: Paris have become the first side to be crowned champions with eight games remaining, beating the benchmark set by Gérard Houllier's Lyon when they crossed the finish line with five matches to go in 2006/07.
9: The 9-0 victory at Troyes was Paris's biggest ever win in Ligue 1 and the largest margin of victory for an away side in France's top flight.
13: The Troyes success also brought Laurent Blanc's men their 13th away win in the league this season – one more than the previous record held jointly by St-Étienne (1969/70), Marseille (1971/72, 2008/09), Lyon (2005/06, 2006/2007) and Paris themselves (2012/13, 2013/14).
28: Paris have now moved alongside Marseille as the two French clubs to have won the most silverware – those hauls including a Ligue 2 crown and UEFA Intertoto Cup apiece.
36: Before losing to Lyon on 28 February, Paris went an unprecedented 36 matches unbeaten in the French elite, surpassing the 32-game run of Nantes in 1994/95.
51: Blanc's side racked up a massive 51 points by the start of the winter break in France, one more than Lyon managed at the same juncture in 2006/07.
141: Ibrahimović became Paris's all-time leading goalscorer thanks to a pair of penalties against Marseille on 4 October, moving one ahead of club legend Pauleta (109) – since when the Sweden forward has moved on to 141 goals in total. He also surpassed George Weah as the club's leading marksman in Europe this season, as well as outstripping Mustapha Dahleb as Paris's top scorer in Ligue 1.
Records Paris can still break or match
1: If the French champions remain unbeaten for the rest of the championship campaign, they will have suffered just one loss all term – equalling the record of Nantes in 1994/95.
17: Now 25 points clear of second-placed Monaco, the capital side are in line to establish the biggest ever points advantage in France's top flight – set when Lyon finished 17 ahead of Marseille in 2006/07.
21: Marseille conceded just 21 goals in 1991/92, but they could well find that landmark feat bettered this year as Paris have shipped a mere 15 so far, with eight matches to go.
27: Paris can equal one of their own records if they win three more league matches this term, the club having posted 27 victories during the 2013/14 campaign.
63: The goal difference record held by Reims since 1959/60 is now under serious threat as the champions currently boast a tally of +62.
100: With 77 points under their belts and 24 to play for, Paris can become the first team to break the 100-point barrier, providing they win all their remaining matches. Failing that, they can outdo their own Ligue 1 points record of 89, set in 2013/14.
