Lincoln FC have claimed their 20th title in Gibraltar, and the first since the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) became a UEFA member, following a 4-1 win against Lions Gibraltar FC on Monday night.

A 12th successive national championship was secured with a 13th game unbeaten in this season's Premier League. Jansen Dalli levelled for the Lions after John-Paul Duarte nodded Lincoln in front, before Kyle Casciaro put the home side ahead by the interval. With the restart delayed by floodlight problems, Jean-Carlos Garcia then set up Casciaro for his second five minutes into the second period, with George Cabrera's header sealing a comfortable victory.

Lincoln will thus be Gibraltar's first representatives in the UEFA Champions League, entering the competition's first qualifying round. "We are Champions League," reads a post on the club's official Twitter account.

"It's going to be amazing," said Ryan Casciaro on the eve of the Lions match as he looked forward to playing European football. "When you are up against players who you literally watch week in, week out in the big clubs in Europe you can really measure how good you are." His brother Lee Casciaro added: "It will be a learning curve for everybody."
