City trade with Basel for Caicedo

Manchester City FC have signed Ecuadorean international striker Felipe Caicedo from FC Basel 1893, paying around €6.9m for the teenager's services.

The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Premier League club, replacing Rolando Bianchi who returned to Serie A with S.S. Lazio earlier this month. Caicedo spent two seasons in Switzerland, scoring eleven goals in 21 Super League starts for Basel, who hold a six-point lead in the standings. The former Rocafuerte FC player has also managed two goals in 16 appearances for his country. Sven-Göran Eriksson's City occupy sixth place in England's top flight.
