Juventus have been crowned champions of Italy for the first time in nine years after a 2-0 victory against Cagliari Calcio took them four points clear of AC Milan, who lost 4-2 against FC Internazionale Milano.

Mirko Vučinić gave Antonio Conte's side the perfect start after six minutes with an imperious finish. The visitors took control thereafter and confirmed victory – and a 28th Scudetto – after Michele Canini put through his own net. As news filtered in from Milan, jubilant celebrations ensued as Juventus re-established themselves at Italy's most eminent club.

"It's a fantastic feeling, a great joy after a wonderful year and an extraordinary season," said Conte. "The lads fully deserved this Scudetto and so do our great fans. The achievement is even bigger because we defeated a great side like Milan in the run towards the Scudetto. We have not lost in 37 games and we hope to finish the season undefeated because it will be something historical."

Milan surrendered their title after suffering their second Derby della Madonnina defeat this season. Diego Milito struck first, and although Zlatan Ibrahimović's double reversed the deficit, Milito completed his treble, before Maicon compounded Milan's misery with a stunning fourth.

Elsewhere, Udinese Calcio's 2-0 victory against Genoa CFC moved them third, at the expense of SSC Napoli, who came unstuck against Bologna FC by the same scoreline. Fourth-placed S.S. Lazio are two points back, following a routine 2-0 success at Atalanta BC.

Fabrizio Miccoli fired a hat-trick as US Città di Palermo drew 4-4 with AC Chievo Verona. Relegated Novara Calcio and AC Cesena locked horns, with the home side coming out on top 3-0, while Parma FC triumphed 2-0 against AC Siena.
