Imperious Roma march on, Napoli and Juve win

Michael Bradley scored eight minutes from time as AS Roma posted a ninth consecutive victory at Udinese Calcio on a day when SSC Napoli and Juventus also won.

AS Roma made it nine wins from as many games at the start of the Serie A season to consolidate their five-point cushion atop the standings, on a day when closest pursuers SSC Napoli and Juventus also won.

The Giallorossi's unblemished sequence was in doubt at Udinese Calcio when defender Maicon was dismissed for a second bookable offence on 66 minutes. However, Rudi Garcia's charges rallied and American international Michael Bradley struck the winner eight minutes from time.

In Sunday's early kick-off, Gonzalo Higuaín converted two first-half penalties as second-placed Napoli recorded a 2-0 success against Torino FC, who had Migjen Basha sent off late on. Juventus then prevailed by the same scoreline against Genoa CFC, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tévez both on target.

Elsewhere, Parma FC let slip a two-goal lead before edging AC Milan 3-2 thanks to an added-time Marco Parolo effort, while ACF Fiorentina came from behind to beat bottom club AC Chievo Verona 2-1.

Also struggling at the wrong end of the table, US Sassuolo Calcio drew 0-0 at Calcio Catania. As for Bologna FC, they edged to a 1-0 victory at home to AS Livorno Calcio. SS Lazio overcame Cagliari Calcio 2-0 in the late fixture – their first triumph in four league outings.
