Diallo takes the helm in France

Diallo has acted as interim FFF president since February, and his first mandate as elected president will run until the end of 2024.

Following the vote, he told delegates that he was ‘honoured’ by his election. “To be the 13th president of the FFF is a great responsibility, and I’m fully aware of what it means,” he reflected.

Addressing the members of the FFF executive committee, Diallo thanked his colleagues for their work on behalf of the association as a ‘united, supportive and skilful team’ during a challenging period.

Teamwork pays dividends

“This team has been able to keep our federation running, moving forward on projects and preparing for the future”, he said.

Diallo first rose to prominence within French football as CEO of the union of professional football clubs (1992–2021). He was a member of the board of the French Professional Football League from 2009 to 2021. Since 2013, Diallo has overseen Cosmos, which represents all employer organisations within French sport.

Initially elected to the FFF executive committee as treasurer in March 2021, Diallo was appointed first vice-president in December of the same year.

He was elected as a member of the UEFA Executive Committee at the European body’s ordinary Congress in Lisbon in April.
