Vahid Halilhodzic, PSG coach
I am really happy for the players and fans who have suffered a lot recently - tonight they can celebrate. I have never doubted the team's quality, and the manner in which we controlled the match against the European champions from the first minutes demonstrates that. We always had options in attack and [Lionel] Letizi had almost nothing to do all game. Many criticised our recruitment during the summer, but tonight has shown that we have a good base to build on. There will still be difficult moments for PSG, not all our problems have been solved, but we are heading in the right direction and I give a big bravo to my players tonight.
Victor Fernández, Porto coach
I have no complaints to make about my team's approach. We played very well and created a number of chances but failed to capitalise on them. Our defence disappeared for two minutes during the first half and that is inexcusable, but I cannot be too critical. They have been our strength recently and it is in midfield and attack that we struggle. PSG played at a higher level than they have shown so far this season, and they surprised us a lot. They were quick and skilful, nothing like the team that lost to Chelsea [FC] two weeks ago. It will now be difficult to qualify, but we have two home games now and the one against [PFC] CSKA [Moskva] will be decisive. We will go for the win at all costs.
