Henry facing lengthy absence

Arsenal FC will begin their UEFA Champions League campaign without captain Thierry Henry after he was ruled out for a month with a groin injury.

Key loss
Henry was missing from Arsenal's 2-1 defeat by Middlesbrough FC on Saturday and had already been sidelined for Wednesday's opening Champions League game against Swiss side FC Thun. Confirming the extent of the injury, Henry said: "I knew my body was not right and I just have to rest. I do not want to copy what I did last season when I played on with an injury." Manager Arsène Wenger added: "It may be four [weeks out] but I am counting six and then I can only have a good surprise."

Campbell return
The 28-year-old scored five goals in last season's competition before the north London outfit were eliminated by FC Bayern München in the Round of 16. But while Wenger counts the cost of losing one key player, the Frenchman could be boosted by the impending return of another as England centre-back Sol Campbell is in line to make his first appearance since May.
