Having already lost John Mensah to a hamstring injury in the 3-2 French Cup fourth-round defeat by LOSC Lille Métropole, Olympique Lyonnais could now be without fellow central defender Jean-Alain Boumsong for 11 March's UEFA Champions League second leg at FC Barcelona.

Hamstring injury
Lyon assistant coach Patrick Collot said that the 29-year-old "felt a twinge in his hamstring" and underwent an ultrasound scan on Friday which revealed a "minor muscular problem". The French international was subsequently left out of the squad for Saturday evening's Ligue 1 game with Lille at the Stade de France, which Lyon lost 2-0, while Collot admitted that "we're not sure how serious the injury is or how long he'll be out for."

Long-awaited returns
There was positive news on the injury front for Les Gones, who are level at 1-1 with Barcelona in their first knockout round tie, with versatile midfielder Mathieu Bodmer and defender François Clerc both named in the starting lineup for the Lille match after lengthy absences. Clerc had not played a competitive game since August due to a knee injury, while a groin problem had kept Bodmer out since October.
