FC Bayern München's Lucio will sit out Wednesday's UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg at FC Barcelona with a thigh injury suffered at the weekend, but fellow centre-back Daniel Van Buyten could be available.

Van Buyten doubt
Brazilian international Lucio strained an adductor during Saturday's 5-1 loss at VfL Wolfsburg and misses the Barcelona trip, with his participation in next weekend's Bundesliga match with Eintracht Frankfurt – which is three days before the Barça second leg on 14 April – also doubtful. Van Buyten, who has been at home in Belgium for two weeks because of personal reasons, returned to Munich and trained on Monday. However, a decision about whether he will travel to Barcelona is yet to be made. "We're really happy he's with us again," said Bayern coach Jürgen Klinsmann, who has the option of selecting Martín Demichelis or 19-year-old Breno in defence.
